Cameron Scott is a lifetime outdoor enthusiast and has always been passionate about protecting and exploring our wild places. As the head fly fishing guide for Boundary Expeditions on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River in Idaho, bears are always a fun creature to connect with. Scott always enjoys their presence and wild spirit in the canyon.
Scott has gone on multiple solo backpacking trips in Yellowstone National Park, Glacier National Park, and other parks where bears are a part of the ecosystem. On more than one occasion, Scott has been blessed with encountering Grizzly and Black bears. Each one has been a safe experience with proper bear awareness, food storage measures, and making plenty of noise while on the trails, which has kept the bear at a manageable distance.
When he was first introduced to Hey Bear products, Scott thought, “wow, this is brilliant and fun; what a cool way to share bear awareness with the public”, but it has become more than just a brand to him. Every time he is out exploring and visiting our wild places, whether there are bears in the vicinity or not, Scott makes it apparent to always be connecting to the places he is visiting.
Scott feels that he is more aware than ever within the outdoors because of his Hey Bear gear. It makes him more accountable for his actions. Scott wants everyone to take care of our wild places so that we can enjoy them for generations to come!
